Original artwork called 'Benedictus' which was painted on ANZAC Day 2019.
The red poppy symbolises the fallen service men and women, and the purple poppy symbolises the fallen service animals, and their ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

'Benedictus'
"Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini (Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord)"
I originally had another title in mind for this piece, but when I was painting this on ANZAC Day in 2019, I had the dawn services and marches from the capital cities of Australia, Gallipoli and The Western Front in France on the TV. They did a special highlight of past and present serving servicemen, women (signified by the red poppies) as well as showing some of the service animals (signified by the purple poppies).
The song that was played stopped me in my tracks and as I watched, I was so moved to tears that they ended up on the canvas.
This is how "Benedictus" came to be.
This painting has some texture on it, is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas, has been sealed with varnish, and comes framed and ready to hang and with a Certificate of Authenticity.
