Golden Years : A Tribute to David Bowie
This is the second painting in my ‘Rock Gods’ Series which is a tribute to all the male musicians who, even in death, continue to this day to have an impact on me in some way or another either through their extreme artistic talents, lyrics, melodies, charisma, or just who they are / were.
Their music is also very nostalgic for me.
David Bowie had two distinct personas over his career, Ziggy Stardust and later David Bowie himself. The latter was when I truly connected to David, and his music genius.
He had so many wonderful hits that transport me back to my youth, and it was from connecting with him at this time, that I then discovered Ziggy and all of the amazing songs from his earlier years!
Golden Years seemed a very appropriate title for this older version of David.
