About the Artwork – For The Fallen
Painted on ANZAC Day 2017, For The Fallen is a heartfelt tribute to the courage, sacrifice and service of the men and women who have served our country, both past and present.
The artwork features the symbolic red and purple poppies. The red poppy honours those who lost their lives in service, while the purple poppy acknowledges the often-forgotten animals who served alongside them — the horses, dogs and other animals that endured the hardships of war.
Together, these symbols serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made, the lives forever changed and the importance of remembering those who have served.
For The Fallen is a tribute to remembrance, gratitude and the enduring spirit of those who answered the call to serve.
