'Kimberley Calling'
The title is inspired by the Dan Sultan song of the same name about our gorgeous Kimberley and Pilbara Regions in the North West of Western Australia.
This painting is inspired by Fortescue Falls which is located in the Karajini National Park in The Pilbara Region, and is the perfect place for a refreshing swim to wash the red dirt away!
Permanent water is a welcome site in the arid Pilbara environment, so here you can leave the red dirt and spinifex behind. As you descend into the gorge you will notice the vegetation change as you go deeper, becoming more green and lush. The rocks too change colour, becoming richer red and purple as you go deeper. The pool at the end of the falls is an oasis – the perfect place for a refreshing swim.
