‘Cold Day In The Sun’ : A Tribute to Taylor Hawkins
This is the first painting in my ‘Rock Gods’ Series which is a tribute to all the male musicians who, even in death, continue to this day to have an impact on me in some way or another either through their extreme artistic talents, lyrics, melodies, charisma, or just who they are / were.
Their music is also very nostalgic for me.
When I heard about the death of Taylor Hawkins, it was definitely a cold day in the sun for me. He not only was the drummer of my favourite band, the Foo Fighters, but he was also extremely funny, charismatic, an all-round awesome guy, and he also had a smile that would light up any room!
So, it is very fitting to name this painting ‘Cold Day In The Sun’ which was actually one of the few songs that Taylor was lead vocals on.
Vale Taylor
