What I’ve Done : A Tribute to Chester Bennington
This is the eighth painting in my ‘Rock Gods’ Series which is a tribute to all the male musicians who, even in death, continue to this day to have an impact on me in some way or another either through their extreme artistic talents, lyrics, melodies, charisma, or just who they are / were.
Their music is also very nostalgic for me.
Chester Bennington was the lead singer of Linkin Park. The band had a sound that was so unique and different than anything I had heard before, that I was just blown away by them.
Chester had a special way of really connecting with his lyrics that was soulful and meaningful, as he sung about his life and his struggles.
The producer of the Transformers movie franchise was a massive fan of Linkin Park, so they featured heavily on all the movie soundtracks. Having young Transformer fans in my household, these movies were constantly played, and therefore I listened a lot to them.
The first movie featured the song ‘What I’ve Done’, so this was the song that resonated with me the most at that time.
Vale Chester
May you Rest In Peace, but your music and influence live on forever.
